UK IT security spending tops £3 Billion a year
With the increasing use of mobile devices and growing threat of cyber crime, the UK is now spending more and more on protection leading to figures recently being published of £3 billion pounds every year.
Security levels are growing 10% year on year and the entire market it estimated to be at $60 billion.
In the first half of 2011 there were around 40 deals accounting for over $10bn in value, a 70% increase on the full year for 2010.
Some of the big deals in the security space over the last couple of years include Intel's $7.8bn deal for McAfee, Dell's $612m acquisition of Secureworks, HP's $1.6bn deal for ArcSight and Symantec's $1.2bn acquisition of VeriSign.
